Ecological Footprint – The Know How

Devised in the year 1990’s by a Canadian ecologist. Ecological Footprint is a figurative count of the amount of resource a human being consumes to make it sustain itself. Here a human being can mean an entire neighborhood or entire mankind.

Some current research says that the collective footprint is 23% more than what the Earth can sustain.

Online footprint calculators ask the person taking the test a series of questions based on their way of living. The questions range from how they commute the food they eat, etc.

After the test the calculation is shows to the individual of the amount of footprint he has as compared to the country as well as globally.

After the result, the individual can assess his own way of living and how he can reduce and save on some things so that the footprint gets reduced
